Nightmare World of Jerry W. McKinney

I can almost see my friend Linda cringing as she sees I am writing a new blog. Generally my words are wrought with grammatical errors and punctuation mistakes. Yes, I'm human, but trying to get better. Only if I had an editor in life that was so helpful. Perhaps I wouldn't have gotten into all the trouble I did. Perhaps I would have a little better student. Perhaps I would have known better than to use the word "perhaps" this many times in a row. Ok, you can stop cringing Linda.

We all make mistakes, whether it be on paper or in our lives. There are always "editors" who will hold your hand along the way. They might be a parent, sibling or even a friend. But trust me, that guy who wants you to try that crap in the baggy is no life editor or friend. I just want to take this moment to thank editors I have. Truly my friends ... Smile, you know who you are. Geez.

You dink! But a true blue and wonderful friend with a playground of error fun for me to play in. Cringing yeah, but never a burden when it's needed.
You're right about the editors of life. Moms and dads are the first and most important ones. Mistakes in life will happen. In books, always! But you live and learn and apply that knowledge for the next go-rounds.
Friends ... precious correction tapes. We know who we are to each other.

That is such a fine analogy! We could all use editors in our lives -- even ones who don't know how to spell or punctuate, but who might give good advice or set the right kind of example or tell you when you're a doofus just to keep you from getting too big of a head. Past mistakes usually can't be erased as easily as a manuscript. Yet they do provide lessons if we're smart enough to learn from them. And all any of us can do is try our best to do better. So you're on the right track!

For myself, neither my parents nor sibling were such good life editors; I had to learn to edit my own life, along with my writing, ha ha. Oh well. Still learning too. Still trying to do better. And people who make you smile, well, that's pretty special. :)
